Money saving ideas for your rat(s).

Chew Wood - purchase wooden clothes pins from a dollar store vs. the expensive wood blocks at petstores.  Rats love it when you soak them in juices!

Houses - use small cardboard boxes, cut holes wherever you like for rat fun.  Throw away when dirty and start again.
            - use plastic containers as houses (i.e. large margarine containers, laundry detergent containers), cut off the top of the container (laundry) where the
              handle is; wash thoroughly before giving to rat.

Hammocks - get tea towels from WalMart, and hooks and chains from HomeDepot.

Water bowls/Food Dishes - visit a kitchen supply store, most ramekins come in packs of 4 for less than $6.
